Creative Writing The Bet Shalom Creative Writing group has resumed meeting. In June, we will meet on Wednesday evenings, June 3, 10 and 24 at 7 pm at the shul. We will not meet during July. The date we resume in August will be announced as soon as we know! Facilitated by Lynn Saul, MFA and published poet, this group is sharing writing with a Jewish focus that its various members want to write. For example, Sophia Bressler has been working on stories and poems about her experiences as a child during the Holocaust when her mother’s courage and quick thinking saved her. Anne Lowe has written about the changes she has experienced in her participation in Jewish observance. We will also focus on writing pieces that can be read as part of High Holy Day services, including original prayers, commentaries on prayers and readings, and midrashim on the holiday Torah and Haftarah readings. No previous writing experience or commitment to attend all sessions is necessary! If you are interested in exploring new ideas and being creative, please join us! |
